Everyone loves stories, even short ones. Regardless of the storyteller, the stories have a life and a charm of their own. Jesus understood this and frequently taught through stories. In the Gospels, there are some thirty-nine stories (parables) that he told – each one of them is short and goes straight to the point.
Stories are effective because they are easy to remember. They have a clear beginning, continuity, and an emphatic ending. We can instinctively understand and often relate to them. We are able to share them with others when the time is right.
Reflections is a collection of short, devotional stories. In every one of them, Charles Jackson invites the reader to pause and reflect for a moment on life, its meaning, and important truths pertaining to reality.
